INCREASING CLOUDS AND HUMIDITY TODAY WITH SOUTH WINDS...
SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL EXPECTED OVER THE NEXT TWO DAYS...

The summit was in dense fog early this morning, though the fog lifted
off the hill shortly after 8 AM EDT. A light rain shower in the early
morning hours and a brief period of drizzle before and after 8 AM EDT
brought only a trace of rainfall. After a morning low of 51, the
temperature has soared once again into the 70s, which is well above
average for mid-April. The dew point has increased to the 50s today
on a southerly breeze, which has kept the relative humidity above 50%
as of early afternoon. The moister air mass is moving in ahead of the
heavier showers and steady rainfall is expected tomorrow and Monday.
Another brush fire has been burning since this morning about 4 miles
SW of the Blue Hill.

The 0.76 inch of precipitation that we've received on the summit from
March 4 - April 20 (a total of 48 days) is only 9% of the normal
precipitation (8.27 ins.) that would be expected over that time frame.
But, thankfully, substantial rainfall is in the forecast later this
weekend!
