BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 25, 2011 ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME EARLY MORNING INVERSION OBSERVED RECORD BREAKING NOVEMBER JUST AROUND THE CORNER AS MEAN TEMPERATURE STILL RANKS #1 There was an inversion present this morning with a very defined, dark smoke layer below it that lasted till early afternoon. Temperatures have been steadily rising since this morning. The temperature at 7:00 EST was 41F and and has recently been around 58F. Skies have provided a nice variety of cirrus clouds, and a southwesterly wind has helped temperautes climb. Although our low temperatures for the past four days have been more seasonable, this month's average minumum temperature still ranks in the top 5 warmest on record. As for this month finishing as the warmest November on record, that possibility still remains as the average for this month is still 0.4 degrees warmer than the current record. Along with today, tomorrow's temperaures will certainly add to this as high temperatures have a chance of reaching the low 60s here at the summit followed by mostly cloudy skies tomorrow evening which will keep the overnight low temperature up. The month of November is still averaging very much on the warm side. See stats below...
