BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY FRIDAY, JUNE 3, 2011 ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME COOL, DRY, AND BREEZY; PROBABLE TORNADO DEBRIS FOUND ON HILL TODAY; With a low of 48F and a high of 66F through 2PM EDT today, temperatures are running a few degrees below average for the first time in about 10 days. Dew point temperatures are in the lower 40s, providing for a very comfortable feel to the air. West winds have brought in the drier, cooler air mass. Winds are quite brisk today, gusting near 35 mph occasionally. Winds were stronger yesterday, peaking at 50 mph at 10:47 AM EDT. While leading a school group hike up the summit today, Program Director Don McCasland happened across an intriguing article on the ground. What he found appears to be a piece of debris that was picked up by the recent central MA tornadoes, lofted high up in the atmosphere, and deposited on the north slope of Great Blue Hill. It is a Polaroid picture of a house under construction, and it is dated June 10, 1999. The photo is plastered with dirt and mud on one side, and has a couple of small tears on its edges. It's exact location of origin is unknown. Today's observations: 7 A.M.
