BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS 02186 ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA   DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY TUESDAY, JANUARY 15, 2008 ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME   NEW RECORD DAILY SNOWFALL FOR YESTERDAY AT 10.3 INCHES HEAVY SNOW CONTINUES FROZEN TO TREES AND BRANCHES TODAY JANUARY TEMPERATURES STILL +8 DEGREES AT MID-MONTH   Some additional light snow yesterday afternoon added another 0.1 inch to the record 10.2 inches reported yesterday; the final record daily total for January 14th is now 10.3 inches surpassing the previous 9.0 inches in 1999.   A heavy load of frozen ice and snow continues to put a lot of stress on trees and branches. Overcast weather with very high humidity and temperatures in the low to mid 20's this morning was not allowing any melting.
