BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS 02186 ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY THURSDAY, JUNE 14, 2007 ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME LOW CLOUDINESS SHOWING SOME BREAKS BY EARLY AFTERNOON PERSISTENT NORTHEAST WINDS NOW FOR SIX DAYS INCLUDING TODAY VERY CHILLY DAY YESTERDAY AVERAGED 12 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL The sun has finally been making an appearance here today as the low stratocumulus clouds show some breaks early this afternoon but the temperature has only reached the upper 50;s. Our normal high temperature is in the mid-70's. The persistent northeast winds are again very gusty today reaching speeds up to 30 to 35 MPH by early this afternoon. Yesterday's high and low was 56 and 50 degrees, an unusually cool day for mid-June. However, the record low maximum temp- erature for the date remains at 51 degrees way back in 1890. Adding to the chill for the day yesterday were the gusty winds with the peak wind gust to 42 MPH NNE late in the afternoon. The month of June has now slipped slightly below normal in temperature after being above normal until yesterday's very cool day. Today's observations: 7 A.M.
