BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS 02186 ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY MONDAY, MAY 23, 2005 ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME [unless otherwise noted] Discussion at 2 p.m. VERY COLD AND GLOOMY MAY WEATHER CONTINUES ON AND ON.... ONLY ONE 70-DEGREE DAY ALL MONTH THROUGH MAY 23...NEW ALL-TIME RECORD! The low stratus clouds showed just a few very small holes this morning but light drizzle and a continuing low overcast along with temperature readings running 20 degrees colder than normal are prevailing early this afternoon. The mean temp. for the first 22 days is 50.4 degrees considering the National Weather Service mean and 49.9 for the 24 hour corrected mean. Only three Mays on our entire record have monthly means (at end of month) below 50.0 degrees. They are 46.0 in 1917; 48.3 in 1907; and 49.8 in 1967.
