The temperature hit 51 degrees early this afternoon for the warmest reading of the month to date beating two other days with highs of of 50 degrees during this mild month of February. The snow is melting away quite quickly now and appears to average only about 2 inches around the summit with a lot of bare ground showing. South winds have been gusting 30 to 40 mph during the late morning and continuing this afternoon.
