This morning we reported the lowest temperature of season again for the second morning in a row at 43 degrees. Nearby Norwood Airport ( 3 miles southwest ) had a low of 36 degrees this morning as compared to 45 degrees Sunday morning. Spectacular visibility today for the second day in a row running 80 to 90 miles and more with temperatures in the lower 60's and dewpoints lower 40's early this afternoon. Winds have diminished to light northwest after gusts to 40 MPH NNW (Aerovane) on Sunday. Sunday was a very cool and windy day averaging 10 degrees below normal but the month is still hanging on to about a half a degree on the warm side of normal. The final rainfall for Saturday, the remnants of Ivan, was 3.22 inches in the standard rain gage and 3.26 inches in the ASOS gage. This was nowhere close to the record of 4.25 inches on September 18, 1996. The peak gust registered was 48 MPH NE on the Aerovane wind system and 46 MPH NE for the 420C recorder.
