FINAL STORM TOTAL THROUGH NOON IS 7.8 INCHES... THIRD LARGEST SNOWFALL THIS EARLY IN THE SEASON... The snowfall measurement on the summit was 6.8 inches as of 7 AM, and an additional 1.0 inch fell after that until the snow ended at 11:40 AM. The standard gage precipitation was 1.04 inches through 0700E, with 0.12 for the six hours ending at 1 PM for a storm total of 1.16 inches. Today's snow will also likely set a new daily snowfall record for 11/13, surpassing 2.0 inches in 1886. After the snow ended, the visbility climbed rapidly to the west as strong high pressure begins to move in. By early afternoon, the visibility was nearly 80 miles to the NW with a distinct clearing band in the distance SW-N beginning to replace the stratocumulus overcast. Today's observations: 7 A.M.
