DISCUSSION AT 2 P.M.

NEAR NORMAL TEMPERATURE BUT LESS THAN NORMAL PRECIPITATION
FOR MAY SO FAR....10% LESS SUNSHINE THAN NORMAL ...

The sun is breaking out through mostly cloudy skies and we're receiving a little
more sunshine than the past two which both had less than 5% of the possible.
So far we have only 42% of the possible sunshine for the month to date. The
long term May average is 52%. Patches of virga and rain showers are being observed
developing to our west from dark cloud bases early this afternoon. Visibility is
spectacular running up to 80 to 90 miles.

Several hours of light rain early this morning produced just 0.02 inch and the
monthly total has reached only 0.58 inch, about an inch below normal.

It seems as though it would be quite a bit cooler than normal this month
but we find a normal average through the first 13 days of this month.

The ASOS wind system continues inoperative since the early hours of May 8th.
