BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS 02186 MONDAY FEBRUARY 24 2003 SPECIAL REPORT 9 A.M. STRONG WINDS OVERNIGHT PEAK AT 60 MPH WNW The Aerovane wind system recorded a peak gust to 60 MPH WNW at 12:13 A.M. this morning. Before midnight there were two peak gust to 56 MPH W at 11:08 P.M. and 11:23 P.M. There were also four more gusts to 56 MPH just after midnight. Winds were gusting to 50 MPH or more between 10:57 P.M. and 12:43 A.M. ASOS reports a peak of 52 MPH W at 11:07 P.M. and 51 MPH W at 12:13 A.M. We noted a rise in barometric pressure of one inch in just over 15 hours from the time of the lowest pressure at 3:40 p.m. on Sunday afternoon through 7 a.m. this morning. The two-day rainfall total for 2/22-23 was 1.47 for the ASOS tipping bucket. The standard reading is not yet available. Snow depth on the ground has gone from 23 inches last Friday down to 14 inches at the stake this morning.
