BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS 02186 SUNDAY OCTOBER 13, 2002 DISCUSSION FOR 10/13/2002 AT 11 A.M. Terrible day up here at BHO. This is a far cry from clear skies and 70 mile visibility. Visibility at the last observation was 1/16 of a mile as I have to strain to see the radio tower out of the west window. Usually on a day like today the visibility gets better as the day goes on but that just isn't the case today as visibility has steadily decreasing since early this morning. Also, the rain/mist/drizzle continues steadily as we have received 0.02 inches of rain for the past three hours. Rain totals don't look as impressive as once forecasted but have still amounted to a significant total. Bob in Hingham reports a storm total of 0.85 inches through 11 AM and here at BHO we have received 0.73 inches since the storm began. Wind gusts for yesterday were quite high as we received gusts of 37,37, and 40 on the 420C,ASOS, and Aerovane, respectively. Winds have calmed somewhat since yesterday but are still above normal for the most part. THE OBSERVATIONS FOR TODAY 10/13/2002 8 A.M.
