SUNDAY A DAY BELOW NORMAL IN TEMPERATURE TODAY....ONLY 3RD DAY THIS MONTH.... A BRIEF VERY LIGHT SNOWFLURRY OCCURED EARLY SUNDAY EVENING... WARMER-THAN-NORMAL TEMPERATURES EXPECTED TO GO ON...NO END IN SIGHT! The rainfall was briefly moderate to heavy showers early Sunday morning with 0.25 inch falling between 4 and 5 a.m. The peak gust reached 74 MPH S on the Aerovane wind system at 4:01 a.m. The fastest hour was 44 MPH (uncorrected) from the south between 3 and 4 a.m. A high temp. of 58 degrees early Sunday followed by a midnight low of 25 made for a mean of 42 deg. for the day or 8 degrees above normal. The month is now averaging 6 degrees WARMER than normal. After today's one day of below normal temperatures, there's no end in sight to the continuing above normal temperatures and drier than normal weather. A brief light snowflurry was estimated to have occurred here at the summit early Sunday evening as colder air was moving in on very gusty west winds. Those winds gusted as high as 44 MPH W and WNW this morning and the relative humidity had dropped to 26% early this afternoon with air temp. of 37 and dewpoint down at only 5 degrees....
