BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS 02186 FRIDAY AUGUST 30 2002 DISSCUSSION.....8/30/2002....12 NOON At 11:30 A.M. EDT the dense fog finally started to burn off and increase visibilities to greater than 1 mile. Earlier this morning at scheduled observation times, the visibility was less than 1 mile obscured by dense fog and light mist. Personally, I had a hard time walking up here as I could not see more than 10 feet in any direction. The past few days have featured cool temperatures and rainy weather. The precipitation we received was much needed and welcomed to the area. Here that the Observatory we received 1.09 inches of precipitation through 11 A.M. EDT. The majority of Eastern Massachusetts picked up around an inch of rain while portions of Western Massachusetts picked up near 1.25 inches of rain. OBSERVATIONS FOR TODAY.....8/30/2002 8 A.M.
